Turn this PC into a console.
Duotronic goes on one drive and leaves everything else exactly as it is. It is controlled with a gamepad or keyboard, and designed around three promises.
Nothing changes without you
Turn off at any point before confirming and this PC remains exactly as it was. Nothing is written or erased without explicit approval.
Nothing else is touched
Only the single drive you select and confirm is formatted. Every other drive and partition in this PC stays untouched.
Every file checked
After copying, every file is read back and checked before the PC starts into Duotronic.
Boot and welcome
The installer boots directly from USB into a quiet, 10-foot environment. Language selection is available right away and can be adjusted again during first start.
You need a controller or keyboard. Turn off at this screen and nothing on the PC is changed.
Selecting the target drive
Duotronic targets exactly one dedicated drive. The installer scans local storage and identifies each drive by model name, capacity, interface connection, and serial number.
Everything on the chosen drive is erased for good.
Erase confirmation with serial check
To prevent accidental data loss, the installer requires entering the last characters of the drive's physical serial number before the Erase action can be unlocked.
Once matched, the interface confirms: “That's the one. Erase and install is ready.” Nothing is erased until you confirm and choose Erase and install. You can choose “Keep my drive as it is” at any time.
Copying the system
Duotronic is written to the drive you confirmed. The installer shows each stage, real progress and a time estimate.
Stage: Copying. “Putting Duotronic on the drive you confirmed.” Leave the PC on; it restarts by itself when this is done.
Checking every file
Before the system is called ready, the installer checks what it has written.
Stage: Checking. “Reading every file back to make sure it arrived whole.”
Installation complete
The system is installed. The installer asks you to remove the USB stick and restart into Duotronic.
“From now on this PC starts straight into Duotronic. Take the USB stick out.” Choose Restart now or Turn off instead.
Storage
Storage today.

Combining two internal drives into one storage space (RAID0) is in development, so it is described here as “when built”. Today Duotronic installs to a single drive.
